Most probably someone in your team already has the abilities you need or if not just recruit on a, as you need basis. But you don’t have to fill that roster up. Your team size is limited to 45 operatives and potential recruits. Instead, find your next mission objective, think about what you need to complete it, and recruit someone based on those needs. Recruiting random people you meet is satisfying enough, but it’s a huge time sink and usually won’t help you in DedSec’s larger goals. They’re bite-sized but could involve anything from accessing Restricted Areas to stealing cars or hacking servers. Recruiting a member of the public into DedSec involves completing a mission for them. It doesn’t trigger often, but it’s nice get a little extra ETO for new clothes every once in a while. This ability just means that you’ll occasionally steal a little money (ETO) when you hack something. (This doesn’t work with lethal damage and permadeath, though.) These abilities activate when your Operatives get arrested (Police Contact) or injured (Priority Care), and they reduce the time that those Operatives are unavailable. Just having an Operative with these abilities means that everyone on your team benefits from it. These abilities (and others like them) apply to the entire team. Since the whole nature of Watch Dogsis hacking is the main way you’ll interact with the world, anything that speeds up your hack cooldowns is constantly useful. However, if you can find someone with silenced weapons, you can be shooty and stealthy at the same time.
When you do, the noise from most guns will draw a lot of attention (of the bullet variety). You’ll still get attacked if you get too close to someone for too long, if you run or, you know, steal something.Īs hard as you try to be stealthy and rely on hacking, you’re going to start shooting at some point. Playing as a character with a matching Uniformed Access ability means you can walk straight into these locations without raising suspicion, while someone without that ability would be attacked on sight. You don’t have to match your outfit to the Restricted Area, but it makes infiltrating much easier. For example, certain areas need the uniformed access of a Construction Worker or a Queen’s Guard. If you zoom in and hover over them, you’ll see the Uniformed Access rules for that area. Restricted Areas are red blocks and buildings scattered around your map. Uniformed Access means that an Operative can walk into a Restricted Area without raising any alarms. We’ll run through the best abilities you’ll want to have on your team. While there are some differences in character personality types the ability classes should stay similar.
